HISTORY
Rockwell started in January 1995, with four employees, when it began manufacturing and distributing dialysis kits and other ancillary dialysis products.
In January of
1996, the Company moved into a new 35,000 square foot manufacturing plant and
began production and distribution of acid concentrate and bicarbonate along
with ancillary dialysis products.
The Company successfully completed an initial public offering (IPO) in January of 1998 and began trading on the NASDAQ Exchange under the symbol RMTI.
In 1998, after several months of development, the
Company successfully launched two new and innovative products. Both products,
Dri-Sate® Dry Acid Concentrate and SteriLyte® Liquid Bicarbonate, were
advancements over current industry technology and made a positive and immediate
impact throughout the dialysis provider market.
By the beginning
of 2001 the Company had outgrown its original plant, and in July of 2001, to
accommodate its expansion, Rockwell took occupancy of a new 51,000 square foot
manufacturing plant. The new plant, which was designed with more efficient
operating processes, would serve as the prototype for the Company's
manufacturing expansion going forward.
In order to
accommodate its growing dialysis concentrate business, Rockwell opened its
second 51,000 square foot manufacturing facility in October of 2001, in
Grapevine, Texas. Designed to streamline manufacturing and distribution of all
Rockwell products, the new plant was a significant and strategic step in the
Company's expansion.
In March of 2005, Rockwell began manufacturing operations in its third plant located in Hodges, South Carolina. The 60,000 square foot facility enables the Company to provide dialysis products to its growing provider-base in the Southeast.
Today, Rockwell
Medical Technologies, Inc. has 135 employees and does business throughout the
United States as well as select foreign markets. Its wholly-owned subsidiary,
Rockwell Transportation, Inc., delivers product with its own fleet of trucks
directly to the dialysis clinics the Company services.
Rockwell Medical
Technologies, Inc. is one of only four major concentrate manufacturer/ distributors
in the country. It is a public company which trades on the NASDAQ Exchange
under the symbol RMTI.
